 ADDITIONAL NOTES

1. A credit in English and Mathematics is essential for almost all the courses listed.

2. Mathematics is compulsory for most of the courses under Social Sciences while a few Universities insist on a credit grade for a law.

3. Some Universities will not accept Religious Knowledge, Literature in English, History or Local Languages for admission into their Faculties of Administration or Social Sciences. Note also that some universities regard Mass Communication as a social science requiring mathematics as a compulsory UTME subject and at least a credit grade in WAEC

4. Specialists in most fields nowadays need Masters Degrees or additional qualifications to move ahead in their jobs.

5. Some professions have high rates of demand in Nigeria such as Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering Accountancy, Banking and Finance. They are usually the highest paid.

6. Employment possibilities outside Nigeria in fields other than Medicine and Nursing are remote except with Master’s qualifications from well known foreign Universities.

7. Most of the concerns employing specialists in the field of Agriculture are still relatively and largely underdeveloped in Nigeria. Related qualifications such as in Wildlife, Forestry etc. are useful only for our under-funded zoos and their malnourished animals and employees. However they might be more useful to Safari and Hotel organizations that are more developed in East and Southern Africa.

8. Population Census, Refugee and other UN-sponsored Agencies usually employed graduates with social science qualifications (Masters degrees mostly)

9. The Military (Army, Navy, Air force) and Police will accept graduates with most qualifications relevant to their functions. Similarly Lawyers like accountants can be employed in any organization or be self employed.

10. The Civil Service (exceptions are those with professional qualifications), Foreign Service, Newspaper and Broadcasting organizations, Advertising Agencies and Institutions of learning normally accept graduates from the Faculties of Arts. Exceptions  are those with Computer, Graphic Arts and related qualifications.

Political careers need school certificates and political party godfathers only.

  1. which exam?…ssce or jamb?…have you bought the Q/A for the subjects?…if you have tell us the exam and we can proceed from there…we have many notes on literature not yet published…

    • if you are in lagos check odusote or unilag bookshops…ask the attendants for help…people sometimes overlook them but they are very current…if not in lagos try the bookshops of the oldest universities…UI,OAU,BENIN,NSUKKA OR ABU…they are usually strong too on waec books…if such are in existence or available!…good luck
