SOME PREAMBLE PLEASE
1.WHOM ARE THESE NOTES MEANT FOR?
They are for different categories of students including:
(a) those who are afraid.
(b) those who are confused.
(c) those who doubt their stages of preparation.
(d) those who have taken the examination once or many times.
(e)those who become sweaty as soon as the examination papers are distributed .
(f)those who feel they are short of time in the exam hall
(g)those lacking confidence in their teachers or in their preparatory schools.
(h)those terrorized year-in ,year-out by a particular subject or two.
(i) those taking JAMB exams for the first time.
(j)those who come across questions that they do not have the faintest idea about.
(k)those needing additional help from their friends or study groups.
(l)those determined to find a pathway or some light through jamb wilderness or darkness.
(m)those easily tempted to joined cheaters on the day of examination or those easily intimidated by what they see at examination centers.
(n) those usually tempted to follow cheating gangs before the date of exam.
(0)those who do not recognize that JAMB is a spiritual battle! Many of those whose results are not cancelled because of their centers need to know that it is the Lord’s battle.
2.OBJECTIVES/GOALS
(a) to pass JAMB exam with less stress and without cheating you need to learn the secrets of passing and have fun doing so!
(b) Jamb exam is not about studying hard .It is about being smart with techniques. When you are laden with techniques which you have practiced, your feelings of panic will be replaced by an eager anticipation of a battle of wits and you are also filled with the confidence that you can win.
(c)today is a message of hope .Your mind will no longer go blank. You will enjoy yourself so much that you will be limited only by your speed and you won’t even want to stop.
(d) the techniques to be revealed to you during this discourse will help you learn to accept that you need to cut repetitive studies to a minimum.
(e) the same techniques will also help you even during your mock exams in your college to make your tutors remember you with respect. You can also use the techniques to shock the examiners who never believed in you into interest and admiration. These techniques once mastered, can help you call Jamb’s bluff in the coming year.
3.JAMB OVERALL FORMULA (PLAN+PREPARE +PRACTICE=PASS)
(a) You must plan how to study.(PLAN)
(b) You must create a warehouse of information/data from your Jamb subjects to be uploaded during the exam proper and get to know the nature of Jamb exam techniques.(PREPARE)
(c) You must master JAMB exam techniques.(PRACTICE)
4.BEFORE THE EXAM (PLANING HOW TO STUDY)
(a) Work out the days and times available between the day of your planning and two days before the exam.
(b) Determine the time of study to be allocated to each subject from the total time you worked under (a) above
(c) Strategize the most important topics from your syllabus and from past question papers and allocate the time available for each subject over these topics.
(d) Write down the dates and time for each topic as a program.
(e) There is no need to panic even if you have only two weeks before the exam. This program more or less becomes the time–table you will follow.
(f) Remember that you cannot allow your self-doubt or whatever is outstanding in any subject to tie you down or hold you hostage from planning your study. After all, failure in one subject will not and cannot determine your fate as shown below.
ENG- 75 ENG- 72 ENG- 72 ENG- 80
ECONS- 70 ECONS- 82 BIO- 68 LIT- 78
GOVT- 75 GOVT- 84 CHEM-65 GOVT- 79
MATHS- 35 MATHS- 48 PHY- 45 EONS- 33
_____ _____ ____ _____
__255_ _ 250_ _250__ _270__
(g) Juggle with a combination of scores in your head noting your weak and strong subjects so that you don’t let one subject destabilize your plans or get you down.
(h) Determine within yourself that:
-Before each study period have the following available with you – study program, JAMB syllabus, JAMB past questions and answer booklet, Objective answer sheets for practice, revision note or “red note”, textbook summaries or the actual textbooks and notes for reference.
– You will attend your lectures regularly.
– Since it is not easy to sit down and start to read meaningfully, your study period should be set at times that will make studying like fun e.g. schedule your studies before something you consider very nice and enjoyable like T.V (PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHES) or snacks or a telephone call i.e. include something that YOU like on the timetable.
VERY SIMPLE FOLKS!END OF ROUND ONE.IS THERE ANYTHING SAID SO FAR THAT U FIND DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND? DO YOU MIND LETTING US KNOW THROUGH E-MAIL? THANK YOU.COMING UP NEXT IS ROUND 2.PLEASE STAND BY.

with the short time left…1/have a study time table…2/allocate more time to biology and use of english if need be…3…check through biology past question papers to see the topics coming out most…4/ make a list of these topics…5/prepare the most important 100 statements on biology as revision….each statement should not be more than 2lines at most….5/prepare the statements from biology keypoints available in the market…same for other subjects…use your main textbooks only if you can not make up to 100 statements…6/statements can be keywords, diagram, formulae, theories etc…but they must be according to the topics extracted from past Q/As…7/put all these in a 2A exercise book and take it along with you and revise it anywhere even in a moving bus…all these will ensure you have a foundation for the techniques you want to use..8/lastly but most importantly, pray for God’s mercy, grace and guidance…on exam day do not change your plan even if cheaters decide to stay under your table…YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO FAIL JAMB UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!…all the best…

The following tips would help you scale through.
1. Pray and carefully choose the course you want to study, this is done by proper investigation about that course and your candid interest in that course.
2. Read hard and Set Goals majority of candidates writing jamb don’t read except the date of the exam is close, this of course would attract failure. Nothing good comes easily so forget those who have played a smart character by cheating and still made it, it would go a long way in their life and whereas yours might not be that way. Read with the jamb syllabus, dictionary, calculator, biro and jotter and also set goals like 340, 380 so that even though you dont reach your goal, you would get close to it.
3. Practice past questions at least one month to the exams to see how far and smart you could be in tacking the questions.
4. Avoid any form of distraction such as handset, games, television, even your love patner until you write your exams.
5. Pray hard this is one of the important factor. we have heard of instance where one would read hard, burn the night candle and after that he/she’s paper would be canceled due to exam malpractice in the centre. So prayer saves you from danger.
6. Set tough questions for yourself and try to answer them.
7. Reduce the rate you talk, when you talk too much there is possibility of you forgetting what you have read, so lessen your talking habit.
8. Avoid procastination. One of the reason students fail is due to procastination, do the right thing at the right time. Pray when is time to pray, read when is time to read, chat or play when is time for that, sleep when is time for that etc
9. Enter the hall with confidence and remove the spirit of fear maybe due to your past failures.
10. Be fast and leave any number that is giving you problem and move to the next after that you pray and invite God to help you shade the correct answers according to his will.
11. Shade whatever your minds tell you that is for the answers you are ignorant of.
12. Pray hard before and after the exam and believe God that your prayer has been heard.
WAIT PATIENTLY FOR YOUR RESULT. GOOD LUCK 🙂
