THE sixth convocation of Bells University of Technology, Ota for award of first degrees and presentation of prizes holds, Saturday, November 1. A statement by the Institution said the ceremony, which is expected to hold at the Bellstech Convocation Grounds will be the highpoint of a series of activities lined up for the week-long festivities.

The statement said the minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga will deliver the Convocation Lecture titled “Emergence of Nigeria as Africa’s Leading Economy: Challenges for the Future” at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Institution, Friday, October 31, followed by a Convocation Play “This is our Chance”. A Technology Fair featuring research posters and product exhibition by colleges and industries from various sectors of the economy will kick-start the convocation programme.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND IN PARTICULAR THE GRADUATING STUDENTS

The University Community, the Public and in particular the graduating students are hereby informed of the 6th Convocation Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, October 29 to Saturday, 01 November, 2014. The details of events are as follows:

b) 3.00 p.m    Novelty Matches:Bellstech Football Team versus Crescent University Football Team

Thursday, 30th Oct. 2014   

10.00 a.m  Technology Fair/Inter-Collegiate Exhibition

Friday, 31st Oct. 2014   

a) 1.00 p.m 6th Convocation Lecture by Dr. Olusegun O. Aganga, CON, Honorable Minister of Industry,Trade and Investment.

Titled: “Emergence of Nigeria as Africa’s Leading Economy:Challenges for the Future”                       

b) 5.00p.m    Convocation Play Titled: “This is our Chance” by Bellstech Performing Troupe

Saturday, 1st Nov. 2014      

10.00 a.m  Convocation Ceremony: Award of Honorary Degrees, Admission to First Degrees and Presentation of Prizes

Graduands are to be seated by 9:30 a.m prompt on Saturday, 1st November, 2014.

DIRECTIVES FOR PAYMENT AND COLLECTION

Each graduating student is requested to collect one Invitation Card for your Sponsor at the Student Affairs Office.

Graduating Students are expected to pay the sum of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20, 000:00) only, to the University Bursary for the collection of Academic Gowns, Hoods, Scrolls, Souvenirs and Convocation Pack.

Collection will commence from Monday, 27th October, 2014, in the College Offices, upon presentation of the original and photocopy of the receipt of payment.

Academic Gowns, and Hoods, must be returned in good condition unfailingly by Monday, 3rd November, 2014. Please note that any loss of Gown/Hood will attract the full cost of replacement, and failing which, request for Transcripts will not be entertained.

INVITATION CARDS FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS

Each graduating student is requested to collect one Invitation Card for your Sponsor at the Student Affairs Office.

There will be reservation of Rooms in the Halls of Residence for Graduating Students who may need accommodation during the period of the Convocation Ceremony.
