PICKING UP THE PIECES…A POEM BY KAYODE ODUMOSU

PICKING UP THE PIECES

Now it’s plain to see
Comfort brings misery and pain
Shocked at the sights we see
Money, cars and house full of bane

Now we have reached port
But our destination not in sight
Our frail hearts feel the hurt
Painfully, endlessly day and night

Our anchors are down under
You the sound, I the fury
Our lives and dreams asunder
Our feelings and hopes we bury

Under misery,pain and pressure
But then some silence and a quiet resolve
To gather pieces of our treasure
In the hands of the great Tweaker above
